Kokosar had actually decided over a year ago to move to NYC, but was commuting all the while between Europe and the US - and had only just moved into her apartment. As a result, it is still relatively empty and actually feels more like a studio - which makes a nice change: you seldom come across such generous spaciousness in New York. Her clothing stocks are, of course, already there; it goes without saying they have their own room. We go through her vintage finds, haute couture pieces, shoe collection and - of course - her many, many coats together. Kokosar picks up a kimono and asks what I think of it for the photo shoot. She throws it on, and sways in cream-coloured, floor-length silk through her minimalistic, whitewashed New York loft.
