Euro 6 in the Travego Edition 1 meant a further, drastic reduction in exhaust gas emissions without an increase in fuel consumption (which had been feared would be the case). At the same time AdBlue consumption was to reduce by some 40 percent. In order to achieve these targets, the engineers developing the Travego Edition 1 had to pull out all the stops. Thus, for example, significantly higher coolant performance was going to be necessary to meet Euro 6. After extensive calculations and testing this was achieved: by moving the cooling apparatus from the left to the right-hand side, partitioning off the radiator compartment from the engine compartment, increasing the number of exhaust air openings at the rear of the vehicle, using optimised radiator fans and fan clutches with improved controls. The effectiveness of the cooling system rose by 30 percent overall. In addition, engine noise and the temperature in the engine compartment were further reduced.
