Most accidents start long before impact. When visibility is poor, for example, or when there are unforeseen hazards. The Travego Edition 1 is fitted with all the safety technologies currently available, which help the driver to keep control of critical situations. More importantly: the Travego Edition 1 sets benchmarks in active and passive safety and has been acknowledged as a truly safe coach ever since its launch in 1999.
Its standard equipment includes the Electronic Braking System (EBS) with internally ventilated disc brakes on all the axles, the anti-lock braking system (ABS), acceleration skid control (ASR), Brake Assist (BAS) and a wear-free retarder as an auxiliary brake.
The Electronic Stability Program ESP® has been part of the Travego’s standard equipment since 2003. And since 2004 the DISTRONIC, Lane Assistant (SPA) and continuous braking limiter (DBL) have also been included on board.
Operating safety is an important safety factor, too. The ergonomically-optimised cockpit has been overhauled down to the last detail.
All the controls are within ideal reach. The driver seats, which have been designed in accordance with the most stringent orthopaedic standards, and the separate air conditioning system, give welcome relief to the driver on long journeys. The cornering light function, which gives even better vision on bends, and the rain and light sensor all provide additional safety.
The Travego Edition 1 flagship has even more safety systems. The
newly-developed ATTENTION ASSIST (AtAs) assistance system increases safety on long-distance journeys by requesting the driver in good time to take a break. The new automatic tyre pressure monitoring system
(optional extra) warns of any variances.
