During their stay of three weeks aboard the PANGAEA, the Young Explorers analysed environmental problems such as climate change, glacier melting, deforestation, desertification, water pollution and human influence on the sea as a living space, and on the ecosystem in general. They visited all seven continents, experienced the elements and got to know the often-threatened diversity of species in different regions of our planet. "My goal was to show the youngsters the beauty and fragility of Nature. The experiences they had on the expedition will indelibly mark their behaviour towards our earth and its resources", Mike Horn explains his motivation.
